The most recent version of avast’s free review windows is fresh and clean and has clear sections for each of the suite’s tools. The vast amount of screen space has meant that certain features are buried. For example the homepage offers shortcuts to run scans or turning on the VPN. There are also hyperlinks to a few lesser-used tools to improve your system. However, the majority of the features of the program are hidden away in the Explore tab. The installation process is simple and smooth and you’re not forced into upgrading, though the initial scan will highlight “advanced issues” that are only resolved through a premium subscription.
